Blogging Through The Alphabet - H

H is for Heaven! (and how to get there)

There is nothing more important in this life than being prepared for the afterlife.  We have no guarantees of tomorrow, and even if we were guaranteed a long life here on earth, we will all still die one day. Our physical bodies will be buried but our soul will live on forever in either heaven or hell.

God desires you to be in Heaven with Him. It is why He sent Jesus Christ to this earth to die on the cross.

I John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
You see, God cannot allow sin into Heaven, and since we are born sinners, and sin both willfully and ignorantly our whole life, on our own we cannot get into Heaven. But we also could never be good enough to take our sins away or to clean ourselves up enough to be pure and holy like God is. It only takes one lie to be considered a liar, and even if all we did was tell one lie in our entire lifetime, we would still miss out on Heaven because of sin on our record.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Because God is just, sin must be punished.

  Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death;
Because God loves us so much, He made a way that we could escape that punishment that we deserve. It is a free gift that we don't have to do anything to earn; all we have to do is receive it. He has already paid the price.
 Romans 6:23b but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
 Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
 John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Receiving this gift is simple. It is completely a matter of faith. No matter how good we could ever hope to be, or try to be, we could never do enough to wash away our own sins. Jesus has already finished the work of washing sin away, it is now up to us to choose to believe in what He did, as opposed to trusting that we could try to equal Him in our own way.

 John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Once we realize that it is fruitless to try to get to Heaven in our own way, and that the reason Jesus had to suffer and die on the cross was that He was taking our place and the punishment we deserved, all we must do is turn away from our own life and our own way of getting to Heaven, ask for His forgiveness and His cleansing in our own spirit, and turn to Him completely, trusting in Him alone as our Lord and Savior. We do this by placing all our trust and belief in Him, with our whole heart, and then by calling out to Him in prayer, asking for this gift of salvation.

Romans 10:9-10: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
This free gift from God is available to everyone. No one is left out, no matter what they have done. All our sin is bad. There is no one that is worse than another. We are all in the same boat, needing God's help and forgiveness to get to Heaven.

 Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Once we receive God's gift of eternal life, we must choose to live for Him! He will help us in our daily living, and give us the strength and power in our life to overcome sin and make good choices.

 Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
We can have complete confidence in God that He has made a way for us to go to Heaven, and we can look forward to being there one day. We don't have to be afraid of dying and what will happen to us afterwards, if we have already made our peace with God while we have the opportunity.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
The older I get, the more people I know that are in Heaven, and I do look forward to seeing them again one day!  I have peace with God and am no longer afraid that I might die with some sin in my life that will keep me out of Heaven. I realize that He has already taken care of my sin when He died on the cross, and rose again. I trust in Him completely. He gives me peace.

I would like to share this message with every person I meet. There is no reason at all that anyone I know should miss out on Heaven. The alternative, a place called hell, is not where I want anyone to go.

If you would like to know more about how to get to heaven, feel free to send me a message or an email and I will answer any questions that I can!
